I grew up around Democrats.
Throughout school, and even in college, I was told Democrats were the “party of the people” and Republicans were the “party of greedy billionaires”. Even in previous jobs, I was told to vote a certain way because it’s “what’s best”.
For the most part, I didn’t care enough to look into specific issues. I didn’t think it’d make a difference and I had more important things on my mind.
But now, as I've gotten older, become a father, and experienced the world outside of the US, it matters. What happens in the US affects the world. So while I spend time outside the US (for reasons I’ll discuss in another update), I can’t help but feel more connected to what’s happening my home country.
In 2024, I voted. Prior to choosing, I opened myself to going with either Democrat or Republican. I have no allegiance to either particular party.
My party is the one who offers what’s best for humanity.
Not choosing Kamala was a no brainer. She offered nothing of substance that would make a positive impact. Her messaging was all about emotion, mainly hate and fear based on deception, half truths, and outright lies.
As for Trump, he was already president. Looking back, his presidency honestly wasn’t as bad as we’ve been told. Despite all of the attacks in the media, being shot at, and defending himself from bullshit legal cases, he’s still fighting.
It doesn’t get more American than that.
Even better, this time around he’s backed by a team of all stars. From Vance, Vivek, Kennedy, Musk, to even Ron Paul, it’s refreshing to have thought leaders in our country who can speak from the heart, instead of reading scripts from a teleprompter.
My vote this year isn’t for Trump, it’s for common sense.
I’m voting Trump because I’m tired of the lies, hoaxes, and misleading messages from the left. Had Democrats provided a reasonable set of policies and had them presented by intelligent individuals, they could have won my vote.
Instead, they paid celebrities to read scripts, bragged about their support of a nasty warmonger, and spoke boldly about restricting free speech.
That’s crazy.
I believe Republicans in 2024 are different from the past variants.
The things they’re proposing— safer cities, a secure border, fair elections, an American first mentality — are not outrageous. They're all in fact the same or very similar policies Democrats had no more than a decade ago.
Republicans aren't perfect. They too can make the mistake of going too far to the "right". But in all honesty, the Republican party today is more aligned with the center more than any party has been in my life.
If you think otherwise, I encourage you — for your own sake — to try to better understand your party.
Thus, my message right now is clear. My vote is more than a vote for Trump. It’s a vote for doing what's best for society, supporting free speech, and perhaps most important of all, letting the elites know we, the people, have the power.

Congratulations. I was also surprised to find myself on team Trump in 2024 but truth is stranger than fiction.
