I watched Raymond’s live talk because I lacked the real understanding of what copywriting truly tries to achieve - the psychology behind it. Raymond defined the “4 U’s of Copywriting” in terms that we can relate to which led me to understand what copy-writing is suppose to achieve. The study of relationships as explained by Raymond was the eye opening concept that led me to truly grasp the purpose of 4 U’s. We strive to make relationships with others. There all types of relationships including romantic, friendship and client-clientele kinds. All kinds have something in common, a shared experience that makes us bond together and trust one another for mutual benefits. The benefits of Raymond lecture is the understanding of what copywriting is trying to achieve, a psychological perspective. This understanding of this may be the one the most powerful leverage tools in marketing.

I contacted Ray when we were at the pre-launch stage for three nutraceutical products. Raymond provided website landing page content for three nutraceutical products. Raymond thoroughly researched the ingredients for each product and wrote strong marketing messages for each, citing many clinical studies. He struck a good balance between a strong marketing message and playing it safe with FDA and FTC compliance. Raymond worked through challenging research requirements and changing editorial requirements like a champ. He has a good grasp of the mechanics of a sales pitch and gets into the mindset of the target audience. Job well done.
