Super Bowl? More Like, Super Boring (Am I Right, Copywriters?)

Football fans will hate me for saying this, but thought this year's Super Bowl was really, really, reeeeeeally boring.

Do you agree?

Perhaps if I were there, at the stadium, I would've enjoyed it. But nope.

I tried watching it at home and I just couldn't get into it. The fact that I'm not a huge sports fan probably has a lot to do with it.

Anyway, let's change topics.

These Links Are Way More Interesting Than Football

In today's email I have a collection of useful and helpful links for you. These links are ones I've been collecting for the past several days. They consist of things I've been reading, clicking, and sharing online.

This bulk-like link sharing will likely be a thing; I'm testing it out right now, so I'd like to hear your thoughts about it.

So, without further delay, let's see what I have for you today!

Traffic Tracking 101

Link tracking is often a confusing topic for non-technical entrepreneurs and marketers.

Link tracking is basically how you know where your traffic comes from, who clicks your links, and what do they do after they click.

Link tracking is a very important topic that should either be understood by you or designated to someone else.

This article, from Digital Marketer, goes over the basics of link tracking using Google's UTM parameters. I love how they take a complicated topic and give you enough info (and pictures) to make it simple to understand.

My preferred link-tracking solution is Voluum (price: $99/mo). Voluum is a lot more sophisticated than Google's UTM system and Google Analytics, but I tend to still use Google's services in combination with Voluum.

Both work well on their own... but when you combine the two, it's like winning the Super Bowl.

Fun Pulp Fiction Read

This book here, titled Black Wings Has My Angel, was recommended by a copywriting friend of mine. The book is fictional, so don't expect Zig Ziglar-like wisdom from it. Instead, read it and enjoy a captivating story that pulls you *away* from work.

Which reminds me, one of the books I'm looking forward to most this year, Death's End, won't be released until August. :-(

If you like sci-fi and want to open your mind to understanding our existence in the universe, then I highly recommend the first two books in the series - The Three Body Problem and The Dark Forest.

4 Free Writing Webinars

If you want to up your writing game, here are 4 free writing webinars worth looking into. The scriptwriting one looks interesting; scriptwriting is something I've been wanting to pursue lately.

Baby Laughs Before Dying

Someone on Twitter tweeted, "Write the saddest story you can using only four words" and my reply was:

As you can see, 65+ people liked it.

By the way, can you guess the famous 6-word story that influenced my tweet?

Let me know in the comments.

Eat Your Way To Younger-Looking Skin the angle I'm going with for one my latest projects, a skin-care and anti-aging website.

Skincare is huge right now. Just the other day I saw 4 infomercials running at the same time — all for skincare products.

Not only is skin care in high demand, the audience is receptive to other highly-demanded products (supplements, hair products, and, in some cases, dating).

I'll share more about my skincare project (Project S) later on; it's almost ready to go and I can't wait to start driving traffic to the content (and making money)!

That's It For Today

That's all I have for you today.

Hope you loved this, printed it out, and pinned it on your wall.

And from this day onward, you read this post every morning after waking up.

Actually, don't.

That would be weird.
