3 copywriting niches (best for beginners)

Is picking a niche important for a copywriter?

Overall, I'd say — YES! Niching your services removes you from categorized as a generalist, which gives you a huge advantage with clients.

When it comes to picking a niche, there are many options. You can go with a billion dollar niche like weight loss. Or, you can choose a smaller (yet still profitable niche) like penny stocks.

Overall, it depends on what you enjoy writing about.

Want some ideas?

Here are 3 examples of niches that — if I were starting over — I'd get into today:

 Ecommerce is booming.

Ecommerce is booming.

Year after year, online sales go up. Using tools like drop shipping, print on demand, and fulfillment by Amazon, it's easier than ever to start an online store. As more people get into ecommerce, the demand for copywriting increases.

If I were getting into this niche, I'd create copywriting packages such as abandon cart sequences, landing pages, or product descriptions.

I promise you, the demand IS there and even new copywriters can get $500 to $2,500+ per project.

Many people are now using social media tools like Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube to turn their personality into income. In most cases, these types of influencers use video instead of writing. But since they still have to come up with titles, descriptions, and sales pages, they need a copywriter's help.

Possibly yours.

Not all agencies use in-house copywriters. Many hire freelancers. I know because in my second year of freelancing, I worked with the same agency for 8 months. The pay was decent for a new copywriter. I think it was around $3,500 a month — not bad when you're just getting started, right?

These are just 3 of many examples.

Of course, there are many more. But this is a blog post, not an ebook. :)

The good news is if you want more help, niching is one of the many things I talk about in my new free copywriting training.

P.S. A few days ago I bought some very comfortable pajamas in Tokyo. It may seem like a small thing, but for me it meant a lot. When working from wherever you want... whenever you want.. you too may experience life's simple pleasures like enjoy a cozy night at home in your brand new Japanese pajamas.

P.P.S. One of members from my training already has a call with a client scheduled later this week. Because he's signed up for help, I'm guiding him through the entire process.
